hi am form nigeria too and my hair is jet black,,when i retouch my hair i use revlon relax and color same day(doesn't last long but gentle) or on a regular day,, ';clairol nice and easy number 124 natural blue black ';is awesome... its safe and wont damage your hair

you need to use the perminent dyes for them to work properly on most colour ranges and get a richer colour
unfortunetlly dtes like revlon are going to strip the natural colour of your hair of and replace it

When and if you do only use a bit dont mix the entire contents together.. mix a bit seperatly in a glass or other non metal bowl.

The gloves are very flimsy plastic, so it's best to buy a pack of rubber gloves. The conditioner is just a one-time use packet, so I would get Pantene Restoratives deep conditioner to use after coloring, and once a week from then on. But yeah, it's great color to be so cheap... I've gotten it $5 for two boxes before!wrinkles

They actaully fry your hair like crazy! Most flat irons do! But i bought this really ausome flat iron, its called the corioliss pro . I bought it for about 120 $ Its actually healing my hair! Plus it heats up in seconds, i really reccomend this product =]
Ceramic hair straighteners are far better than any other straightener strickally for the fact that with the ceramic on there it will cause less damage to your hair and be less likley to burn your hair.

you should be fine dying over it. use a dye with 'ash' in it like 'dark ash brown' or 'lightest ash blonde' because it has less red pigment,it is based on blue pigment, and will blend to a more natural colour with not as much of an auburn hint to it.

you will find one at your local sallys store.
this shrinks any hair colour pigments and returns your hair to its natural colour.
go straight to a good haircutter place. you need professional help

Oh no! I have been there. The instructions that come with most permanent and semi-permanent hair colors (the ones that contain ammonia or peroxide etc.) say to NOT do anything to it for at least a week. Why? Because the hair will still be ';oxydyzing'; for that period of time. If you absolutely can't stand it though I would certainly go ahead and take the risk of further damage BUT would select something that is perhaps SEMI-PERMANENT or even temporary until your hair has had time to get back to normal condition. Semi-permanent colors often do NOT have high levels of peroxide or ammonia! Be sure to check the ingredients on the package and use plenty of conditioner or even a hair reconstructor. (The later products do great even on very badly damaged hair but you have to apply them, then wrap the hair in a hot towel and leave it alone for 30 minutes or more). When you die hair that has been recently died you will run the risk of a chemical reaction and it could even turn your hair a GREENISH COLOR. Please do use something EXTRA gentle so as not to further damage your hair by chemicals or you can run the risk of that ';burned hair/frizz/lifeless'; look.
Good luck to you whatever you decide and remember that there ARE temporary colors that will ';cover up'; any mistake and some last through several shampoos!
um this happend to me before..this is what i did i dyed it right away and it complete changed to a whole different color then what the box sed so if i were you would go to a hair specialist and ask wat you can do...
One day I dyed my hair 3 times - light auburn (came out purple), to light brown (still too much red/purple), to medium brown. My hair didn't fall out but definitely was dryer, and I had an irritated scalp for a week or so (nothing bad, just itchy).
The brands I used were Feria to Garnier Nutrisse. I've used Nutrisse in the past and have thought it to be good quality. But, these are permanent. Perhaps a semi-permanent would do it for you? That would be gentler on your hair and scalp, but would wash out over a month's time.

You can do it right away, but I would suggest that you use highlights to lighten your hair rather than an all over color. Its hard to strip the hair and it might b splotchy. Good Luck.

Semi-permanent colors often do NOT have high levels of peroxide or ammonia! Be sure to check the ingredients on the package and use plenty of conditioner or even a hair reconstructor. (The later products do great even on very badly damaged hair but you have to apply them, then wrap the hair in a hot towel and leave it alone for 30 minutes or more). When you die hair that has been recently died you will run the risk of a chemical reaction and it could even turn your hair a GREENISH COLOR. Please do use something EXTRA gentle so as not to further damage your hair by chemicals or you can run the risk of that ';burned hair/frizz/lifeless'; look.
Good luck to you whatever you decide and remember that there ARE temporary colors that will ';cover up'; any mistake and some last through several shampoos!
um this happend to me before..this is what i did i dyed it right away and it complete changed to a whole different color then what the box sed so if i were you would go to a hair specialist and ask wat you can do...
One day I dyed my hair 3 times - light auburn (came out purple), to light brown (still too much red/purple), to medium brown. My hair didn't fall out but definitely was dryer, and I had an irritated scalp for a week or so (nothing bad, just itchy).
The brands I used were Feria to Garnier Nutrisse. I've used Nutrisse in the past and have thought it to be good quality. But, these are permanent. Perhaps a semi-permanent would do it for you? That would be gentler on your hair and scalp, but would wash out over a month's time.

You can do it right away, but I would suggest that you use highlights to lighten your hair rather than an all over color. Its hard to strip the hair and it might b splotchy. Good Luck.

ok so my hair got the most subtle look of brown in my black hair by the revlon colorsilk light ash brown hair dye. so the colorsilk did not work and i am aware that the dye only lightens your true hair color by one shade. Color will not remove color. You can counteract the color orange with blue based . I'm kinda scared of you doing this yourself. Before you bleached it, had you colored it in the past 6 months? If you had, it is pulling out the base of the old color that is why it turned orange. If you never had colored your hair before the bleach, you simply did not leave the bleach in long enough. If the later is true you need to bleach for longer for a more blonde effect.
If you must color yourself, go back to your natural with a semi permanent for now.

It took a while but her hair looked amazing. Basically I'm trying to say good sectioning is going to get you good results. (I section across in rows starting from the bottom layer of my hair lines horizontally)
Use a hairspray or a sleeking serum. (Blue magic works for my friend) Good luck!

If you condition your hair regularly and use color protecting shampoo and conditioner your hair color will last a lot longer. Those color glazes, such as John Frieda, also really help extend your dye job,

UV from the sunlight can also cause dramatic changes in dyed hair (I'm a marine biologist and I love to dye my hair so I have a lot of experience with this)
If you really hate a color and want to strip it faster (this only works when you darken hair) you can use dish soap. This works as a ultra clarifying shampoo. I've done this to strip out a lot of red but it leaves your hair REALLY dry so you'll have to deep condition immediately and leave the conditioner on for at least 15-20 minutes.

u should be able to like flat iron them of w/ a blow drierr %26amp; brush uless the packaging says 'keep away from very high heat'. then mayb set ur flat iron/hair drier on low

What colour is your hair now? If it is dark, there is no chance you will lift it to blonde in one go, especially doing it yourself.

I've always wanted long hair but haven't been able to stay patient enough to get it. So, I've always wanted to try hair extensions...but I had no idea how expensive they are!! I would wait just a week or so, while conditioning your hair everyday to rebuild and replenish and prepare it for being dyed again in such a short period of time. When you are re-dying it, be sure to make it very light color the way you like by leaving the dye in for a little longer than what it calls for.
if you want to remove it all together try ';color oops';. You can buy it at your local pharmacy or convenient store. Dont re-dye over it! the color might wash out (kind of like ';tye dye';, but not as cool), and look even murkier. try getting them profesionally done if you want the best results, or take a hair dying class at yout local college.

I have VERY dark brown hair (almost black) and since my mom wouldn't give me any money, I only had 5 dollars so I bought Revlon hair dye in the color of black. I've heard Revlon sucks since it's so cheap. And being the paranoid person I am, I think something bad's gonna happen, like waking up in the morning bald (because my hair fell out from the hair dye or something), or waking up with orange or green hair.Is Revlon hair dye any good?
Your hair won't fall out from the dye, though repeatedly coloring your hair can damage it to the point where it breaks easily.
If it's Revlon Colorsilk you're talking about, I've used it and it's very gentle. My hair does feel a little better after I've colored it than before I did. I used to use Feria, which costs 3 times as much, and I noticed a LOT more split ends, so cost is not necessarily a factor in how good for your hair a product is..
